hello i'm suffering from hypothyroidism ,my tsh was 6.2 when I started to taking thyroxine 25 mg after taking it for 2 months I stopped because I thought i'm fine now when I getting the symptoms of thyroid I reviewed the tsh text I found my tsh is increased to 14.1 and taking to a physician they suggested me to increase my dose to thyrox 50 mg (stated in feb 26) now in june I rechecked my tsh level and it's decreases to tsh 0.33, I don't know what should I do plzz reply sir.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a hormone (Thyroxine produce by thyroid), this hormone is required every day for multiple metabbolic functions and normal functioning of brain. So there is a need to give daily supplement in adequate dosage. Ideally TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. Your present TSH level is too low. So reduce the dosage to 25 mcg and then check TSH again after 6 weeks. Please remember it is a lifelong treatment. Thanks.
