My my mother aged 55 is a diabetic patient from 16 years ,she used to take triglycomet (from 5 years now) and dibizide m tablets (since she had diabetes) she had angioplasty done ,itz been 3 years from nw and for dt she takes prolomet xl25 tablet and cardace h5 tablet. Nw shes having high sugar and doc suggested insulin (human mixtard for night 10 ml and human actrapid @mng 10 ml and aft 5 ml) shes on insulin from one week. No sugar intake from 2 weeks rice only at afternoon rest of d time wheat and ragi ,no chocolates bt still her sugar level is nt reducing itz 400. Wt sud we do? Where are we going wrong? Wt type of food needs to be taken.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given. Nowhere you have mentioned current glucose levels (fasting & PP) and HbA1c%. So difficult to know how is the problem now. Plus you are saying she is not taking any sugar or chocolates. I do not understand, why this is being stated? A person with diabetes is NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT SUGAR OR SWEETS , INCLUDING CHOCOLATES. Most of the food taken by us is containing carbohydrates (Rice, wheat, jowar, bajra, potato, other millets) all of these get converted to glucose only. Hence glucose level can go up. There is a need to take a properly planned restricted diet. So there is a serious need to look at her diet and daily exercise. Then also look at increasing Insulin dosage. Thanks.
