Hello, i?m 24 years old 1m79 / 75 kg. My doctor prescribed to me alprazolam 0,25 mg for occasional use for panic attacks, today had to use one of them at 10: 00 am (london time), and I would like to know if the pill is still active on my body (it is 21: 30 now london time) after 10 hours and 30 minutes after taking the medication as i?m going out and may drink. And I know the both molecules combined together at the pick of alprazolam is not good together. My question is do I take risk having a few drinks after taking alprazolam 10: 30 ago? Best, l. Smith.

No issue with medication and drink. As it's 10 hours apart. But you have to learn to stop drinking.

It's a good question and we have an answer for your question. The medication alprazolam is not frequently used although it has very good anti anxiety effects. The onset of action i.e. The time since taking the medication to the relief of symptoms, is about 5-10 minutes and therefore it acts very quickly. It also is eliminated very quickly from the body. This depends on the kind of metabolizer you are. If you are a quick or a slow metabolizer, your medications should get out of your system in about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Therefore you will not have the medication 10 and one half hours after your last dose. Nevertheless, I advise you to not drink alcohol and if you need help either with stopping alcohol usage or with long term control of anxiety and panic attacks, do not hesitate to contact us.
