My mother is having diabetes and she's was taking gluconorm sr 500 since a year. From 1 week she's not feeling well doctor suggested her to change the medicine to gluconorm pg 2.can you please help me to explain why he changed and what's the difference between gluconorm sr 500 and gluconorm pg 2?

Hello, thanks for the query. Tablet gluconorm 500sr is containing only 500 mg of metformin in sustained release form. Where as the gluconorm pg2 contains glimiperide 2 mg and pioglitazone 15 mg. The second tablet must have been prescribed because the blood glucose levels are not in control. Thanks.
