My mother is undergoing treatment for depression and anxiety. She is prescribed amitop m 5g -2tabs at night and rivotril 0.5 mg also at night. She feels very weak because of these medicines and also feel her body is continuously shivering. How can we control these side effects?

From how long she is having depression? Consult your doctor for the side effects. He may change the tablet. Don't leave her idle. Engage her to do some work. Let her make some friends and chat with them. Give her love and affection. Encourage her and reward her for the work done. It boosts her self esteem. Once her depression symptoms are reduced, she can do meditation. Practice doing deep breathing exercises to keep her calm. Physical exercises also helps a lot. Give her nutritious food. Let her take fresh fruit juices and raw vegetables.
