My child is 9 years old and suffering from fever since last 2 weeks, blood test found negative for malaria and dengue and my family doctor says that it's viral fever while my child is still not good, he suffers from fever 102�f two times in a day. Please advise for medicine/syrup.

Typhoid fever is an acute illness associated with fever caused by the salmonella enterica serotype typhi bacteria after your symptoms have passed, you should have another stool test to check whether there are still salmonella typhi bacteria in your poo. If there are, you may have become a carrier of the typhoid infection. You may need to have a further 28-day course of antibiotics to "flush out" the bacteria. If you are experiencing a sore throat it is most commonly due to viral infection, if it is accompanied by fever or severe pain while swallowing food or water, it usually suggests and infection that needs treatment.
