Can alcohol induce psychosis sir so recently I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder so my doctor prescribed me lithium 1200 mg sertraline 100 mg risperidone 2 mg and lorazepam 2 mg I never had psychotic symptoms before but in august 2019 I took alcohol from next day I had psychotic symptoms like hearing voices and and had thoughts like some one is spying on me and someone mixed poison in my tea after that my doctor prescribed me amisulpride currently if we are talking about anti psychotics i'm on risperidone and amisulpride im little bit ok now but is that drug induced psychosis or am I schizoaffective person.

Not immediately but if taken for long alcohol does contribute to feelings of stress and further hard to deal with. Regular heavy drinking interferes with neurotransmitters in your brain.in the meanwhile do take your medications timely and opt for cognitive behaviour therapy and family therapy from a psychologist.
