I am 47 years old woman. My free t4 level is 1.02 and tsh ultrasensitive is 5.8666. please suggest me the dosage of levothyroxine.

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam if you have got the test done just recently and tsh is 5.8666 mu/l, then there is no hypothyroidism, so no need for any treatment. However, if you have already been on treatment for that condition, then the tsh level is more than what it should be. Because with adequate dosage of levothyroxine tsh is maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l so please clarify that aspect. Another point is have done the anti -tpo antibodies test? Because if the antibodies are in higher number then also there can hypothyroidism due to autoimmune problem. Plus mention the t3, t4 levels too. Unless I get all the details plus presence of any symptoms, it is difficult give any opinion. Thanks.
