The reason might be due to many causes. Commonest here would be a stroke involving temporal lobe, leading to aphasic speech (irrelevant), which can be confirmed by a mri scan of the brain. Second reason can be due to dementia, which happens to shrinkage of the brain affecting recent memory and which is caused/ aggravated by the sleeping pill, alprazolam. This can also be confirmed either by ct/ or mri brain scan. The third reason can be late onset psychosis, in which the scan will be normal. Kindly consult a psychiatrist for remedy. Good luck.
