I am 26 years old female. I am having white patch beside my lips. It is less than half inch now. It has been from almost 4 years. One of the doctor suggested me to use melgain / melblid lotion. From past 1 year stopped using this medicine. Im using mustard oil with turmeric to apply on spot. Patches is clearly visible now im worried about it. Please help me out to solve my problem. Suggest me any medicine can I use the same medicine or is there any home remedy to cure soon.

Hello lybrate-user most probable diagnosis in your case is vitiligo (leucoderma). You are suffering from stable vitiligo. There are many treatment options for vitiligo depending upon type, location,extent of disease. For example white patch over hair bearing regions like abdomen or thigh respond well with oral medications. If there is greying of hairs over white skin patch than response to medications is poor in comparison to black hair containing white patch. White patch over finger tips and lips response poor to topical or oral medications or does not response at all. I recommend minimally invasive vitiligo surgery for ginger tip and lip or ear lobe vitiligo if the disease is stable. So I recommend you not to wast your time on medications and go for vitiligo surgery (blistter grafting / mini punch grafting. Thank you.
