My doctor generally gave me sulfasalazine 500 mg tablets whenever there's a lot of pain in other major body joints like shoulder, should I use the same drug.

Hello lybrate-user, as you are having a h/o rhuematoid arthritis and not on regular treatment for the same there is a possibility that you may have developed secondary hip changes due to rheumatoid. Kindly get an xray pbh -ap and and frog leg lateral views done. Pls. Take it seriously instead of getting some medications and getting the pain relieved as this is the right time to get things managed as you are just 21 years old. Sooner you get diagnosed the better the management could be. Still tb. Retoz 90 mg can be taken for pain relief twice a day after meals till you follow up with xrays.
