My mother is aged 65, weight: 50 kgs (5 ft 2 in). She is having high blood pressure 140/90 to 160/90 last 02 years. She is under medication of losartan potassium 50 mg twice daily (btd) for high bp and also thyroxine sodium i.p. 25 mcg for hyper thyroidism (tsh 7.90 microlu/ml anti tpo antibody 173.8). Cbc, lipid profile, liver panel, blood na, k values, fasting & pp bs, serum creatinine are all in normal range. Ecg impression is also quite normal. She occasionally takes alprazolam for insomnia disorder (02 tab weekly). Kindly advise suitable medicine to normalise the hypertensive disorder.
