Hello, being an orthopedist I would like to comment on his shoulder pain and uric acid levels. Diabetic patients may suffer from a condition known as frozen shoulder or rotator cuff tendinitis. This is easily missed and not seen on x-ray. This can be treated with proper medications and physiotherapy for uric acid, the levels can be brought under control by some medications. Consult me for detailed discussion and information.

A diabetic patient is prone to develop a condition called frozen shoulder/adhesive capsulitis. Although present blood sugar is under control, hb1ac would give you mean sugar levels in blood. This dictates if diabetes can cause other damage to body. Vit b12 is to low, needs supplements. If your dad can't raise shoulder in forward and side movements more than 45 degrees he needs active treatment like vigorous exercise, manipulation under anesthesia or local steroid injection intraarticular. He may need mri for further diagnosis.
