Mr Srinivasan, Thanks for the query. At your age it is really better if you stop taking Glibenclamide as it has very long duration of action. Because of that it tends to lower the blood glucose for a long time. So chances of hypoglycemia (low blood glucose, < 70 mg/100 ml) is quite often seen more so in persons who are above 60 years. Now a days there are better alternatives available which do give good glucose control plus are not causing hypoglycemia. However, with regard to changing from present tablet to SR there is no problem, just start taking those tablets. There is no problem at all. Thanks.
