Hello, your blood sugar has been moderately controlled on seeing first 2 reports and well controlled in latest report so you can now reduce the morning dose of drug to t.glimepride 1 mg with metformin 500 mg continue t.metformin 250 at night. Total cholesterol seems to be normal, high triglyceride levels which should be less than 150 may be due to poorly controlled blood sugar which is evident from first 2 reports. So maintain proper diet, walk for 30 minutes and let me know the blood sugar report after 1 month.

Stop metformin at night, because your fasting sugar is low.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. I do not see any very low glucose levels at all. Hypoglycemic (low glucose) level is when blood glucose goes < 70 mg. Then that may cause certain symptoms, like mild shivering, uneasiness, blurred vision, clouded thinking, giddiness sweating etc. The levels shown are in fact fairly high particularly after food ones. Another aspect metformin hardly causes low glucose. If at all any drug contributes to that then it is Glimiperide. Reducing Metformin by 250 mg has no effect and in fact may reduce your glucose control. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes patient FBG should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.5 %(not mentioned), considering your young age. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
