Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given .fbg 222 mg, shows clearly that only taking metformin 500 mg (how many times a day has not been mentioned) is not enough. Plus there is a need to loo at the following :1) weight, height and extent of daily exercise, 2) dietary pattern, 3) lipid profile, serum creatinine and urea. 4) bp reading & hba1c%. There is a need to adapt a modified lifestyle which includes managing weight to bring it closer to normal, taking restricted diet that provides calories based on ideal body weight and includes good amount of proteins, avoids excess carbs and deep fried foods. Plus there is a need for upgrading the current treatment with addition of proper drugs. Therefore, you will have to come in a private conversation with all the above details, then I will be able to give specific guidance and even prescribe necessary medications. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines. No drugs can be prescribed. Or else please consult your local physician and initiate the necessary change. In a well controlled diabetic patient fbg should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg and hba1c% <6.5%. So the choice is yours. Please take necessary action early, because keeping high blood glucose is not good as it tends to hasten the long term complications associated with diabetes. Thanks.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you. In people with diabetes, polydipsia is caused by increased blood glucose levels. When blood glucose levels get high, your kidneys produce more urine in an effort to remove the extra glucose from your body. Meanwhile, because your body is losing fluids, your brain tells you to drink more in order to replace them. Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
