My father is diabetes patient since 15 year. Before 4 month f 260, pp 350. He use glynase mf tablet last 2 year. In this time his body is very weak and he fill uncomfortable then today he chek cbc and sugar, fasting is 160 and pp 210. In cbc report platelets 80000, hb 12, lymphocytes 18, and all thing is normal in cbc .pls tell me which medicine should be use in future pls prescribed name.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However, I have a few questions> 1) his platelets are only 80000/ml, which is a very low number. 2) does he have any fever and / or other complaints like body ache, joint pains etc? 3) what is his hba1c%? That needs to be checked. Which gives an idea about his previous 3 months glucose control. 4) what is the total wbc count as well as differential count (polymorpho nuclear normocytes, eosinophils, basophils& monocytes)? Why only lymphocytes are mentioned. 5) what is the lipid profile? 6) also check serum creatinine and urea. Creatinine is required to do egfr calculation. Since platelets are very low, it is necessary for him to visit a near by hospital and get necessary treatment. Thanks.
