Hello, Thanks for the query. Both fasting and PP glucose levels show diabetes is not in control at all. What is HbA1c%? In a well controlled diabetes patient FBG should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% <6.8%. That means your current treatment is not helping. It needs to be upgraded. Plus there is a need to kook at your dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, lipid profile, serum creatinine and urea. Another important aspect is you are almost in grade 1 obesity with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 29.43 kgs/Sq meter(Normal < 23 kgs/Sq meter), which means there is an excess of over 15 to 16 kgs. This is one of the major culprit for not having proper glucose control. Plus there is a need to give a closer look at the drugs being taken and upgrade the same. So please get in touch with your diabetologist or come back with all the details that I have mentioned in a private conversation, then I will be able to give specific guidance and even prescribe necessary drugs. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines. No drugs can be prescribed. So please take necessary action. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, for your height the correct weight would be about 57-60 kg. You stay on your current medications and change the diet as follows, monitor sugars and get back to us. I do find that the pp values are quite high and if they do not get better with the suggested modification you will need to seek a consultation reduce the quantity of carbohydrate (rice, wheat, rava, maida) in each meal and increase the quantity of protein (dhal, egg white, fish or chicken) .monitor blood sugars with glucometer as follows. Fasting and pp on wednesday and 2 hour after lunch and after dinner on sunday and maintain a record. If in spite of dietary adjustment you sugar levels continue to be high and if your hba1c is more than 8 % seek a consultation to adjust your anti-diabetic drugs
