Good evening sir I recently meet a dentist and starting a 1 years treatment of braces. After 3 weeks installation of braces I feel a swollen lymph node on my armpit (axillary) I deeply worried about hiv transmission through dentist accessories I concern about. Drilling burs (tooth/hard tissue cutter) used by dentist is not sterilized even I font know I assume if the burs is not sterilized then the hiv transmission possible. I am deeply concerned about swollen lymph nodes in my armpit please answer sir.

Most likely it would b a local cause if still worried get a test for hiv.

Hey there, these can occur due to mild infection as with braces there is change in diet and also outside thing is placed in the mouth which initiates this response. In my view no dentist will be so careless so kindly observe the lymph node and if it persists for more than a week then kindly consult a physician.
