Hello, hanks for the query. I have seen the details given. Your low tsh problem is due to excess dosage of levothyroxine. Since you are on 50 mcg of levothyroxine, there is higher level of t4. This has resulted in to lower tsh. Hence, now you will have to cut down levothyroxine dosage by either 12.5 mcg or 25 mcg, then check tsh after 6 weeks to see if desired level is achieved. Tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l, at which level you will be free from all the symptoms. Thanks.

Please reduce the dose of thyronorm to 37. 5microgram daily. Your problem is due to high dose of thyronorm, than required. Repeat tsh after 6 weeks.

Dear lybrate-user, your initial tsh of 8.5 was just above normal range and I think your t4 and t3 or free t4 and free t3 were normal at the time of diagnosis. This is called subclinical hypothyroidism. This may remain like this for several months to years before progressing to overt hypothyroidism. Treatment is required only when overt hypothyroidism occurs, and at that time t4 or free t4 will be low and tsh usually > 10 uiu/ml this is the time to start thyroxine. At present I feel you can stop the drug and monitor free t4 and tsh after 6 months. At that time check tpo antibodies also and get back to us
