Hello. I my age is 54 yrs. I have been testing my blood sugar using the glucometer since some time and have noticed that the readings are quite high. I have kept a record of the readings too. I have been experiencing dry mouth and thirst and also lost weight, but not very drastic. I have tried home remedies like karela jamun and amala juice, and diabetic powder. I have reduced the amt of sweets I consume. Can anyone suggest homeopathic medicine for the same?

Dear lybrate-user, from your symptoms and the glucometer readings it is evident that you have uncontrolled diabetes and may need medications aftr a proper online consultation. In the meanwhile I suggest the following reduce the quantity of carbohydrate (rice, wheat, rava, maida) in each meal and increase the quantity of protein (dhal, soya, egg white, fish or chicken). Take lot of green leafy vegetables walk 5 km per day and gradually reduce weight by 1 kg per month to ideal body weight (height in cm minus 100 will be roughly uour ideal body weight). Monitor blood sugars with glucometer as follows. Fasting and pp on wednesday and 2 hour after lunch and after dinner on sunday and maintain a record. If in spite of dietary adjustment your sugar levels continue to be high (fasting > 120 and pp > 160 you need to take a consultationÂ

Mr Harish, Thanks for the query. From the description it is clear that you have diabetes, probably Type @ DM. There is no mention actual fasting & PP glucose values as well as HbA1c%, so no way to know how is the real situation. Another aspect is that you have lost weight, which is again suggestive of probably high blood glucose levels. Plus there is no mention of weight, height and extent daily exercise as well as dietary pattern plus lipid profile. These details are required to understand the overall situation. The various home remedies that you have mentioned are unlikely to help and same is the case with homeo medicine. However, if you still want try then that is your choice. In a well controlled diabetes patient FBG should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.5%. So please check your levels and find out. As I feel you do need treatment with modern drugs. Thanks.Â
