Helllo, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. Usually in hypothyroidism (high tsh > 10 mu/l), menstrual irregularity and / or excess bleeding or less flow can be seen. Another important aspect treatment of hypothyroidism is invariably for lifetime. However, appropriate dosage of levothyroxine should be taken. Sudden high dose and abruptly stopping is not advisable. As regards problems with blood (low wbc count and low platelet count), please do a proper hemogram with peripheral smear, also check b12 and folic acid levels. Ideally tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l to be free from symptoms fo hypothyroidism. So please get all the necessary test and come back. However, do continue the drugs that you are taking. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, I note that when you had excessive menstrual bleeding you were found to have a tsh of 14 and after you had palpitation on thyroxine the medicine was stopped and that even without medication your tsh is in the high normal range. You probably had only transient or temporary thyroid deficiency and this can spontaneously resolve if the underlying cause was thyroiditis. Now that your tsh is nearly normal without thyroxine your symptoms are probably not related to thyroid abnormality. Your low wbc and platelet count require to be properly evaluated before we suggest any treatment to sort out your current problems I suggest that you take an online consultation and we can help to sort them out professor m s seshadri.
