Yes, blood pressure medicine should not be stopped suddenly. You didn't mention her present bp range. If blood pressure is well controlled with the medicine she should ofcourse continue it. Along with it, she should take salt and fat restricted diet and walk regularly atleast for 20 min daily.

Hi lybrate-user, your mother shouldnot stop the medication wihout consulting her doctor. Stopping a bp medicine suddenly is very dangerous for her-- it can cause paralysis, heart attack, kinney failure etc. So unless a doctor tells her to stop it donot stop, dose can be reduced if the bp is low but a gradual reduction in dose under close monitoring is important.
