I have grade 3 acne with sine red areas on my face. My dermatologist gave me azithromycin, adapalene and brimonidine gel. And also told me to regularly use moisturizer. She told me to apply brimonidine only on the red areas. I did as she told me. But after 3 days for treatment. I have got all red patches exactly where I applied brimonidine gel. And it is persistent. I have been applying moisturiser regularly. I do not know what to do. My doctor told me to use moisturizer every 2 hours for 3 days. Then continue my cream. Is it safe for me to use brimonidine. please help.

Brimonidine is given to treat erythema (redness). Mostly in cases of rosacea to treat flushing/ redness. And usually takes some time to act. If there is no flare up of redness after using brimonidine .u can continue the same with moisturizer. Visit nearest dermatolgist for ny urgency. Thanks.
