I was diagnosed with lichen sclerosus in may, been given different creams to treat it, but didn't work been to and thro the doctors about 4 times in absolute extortionate pain, they gave me antibiotics and had a hospital appointment with dermatologist, who gave me different cream, still in agony bleeding, doctor sent me back to hospital where I had an emergency biopsy, and having a mri scan monday! the doctor called yesterday to say I had an infection and needed more antibiotics! i've not had anything prescribed for the pain its horrendous nothing helps what can I do? Should the doctors be prescribing pain relief?

Hello hope you are keeping safe 1) I understand your concern, lichen sclerosis is a condition that may cause bleeding and pain in some and with proper treatment it can reduce. 2) as the site of the lesion is not mentioned I cannot comment on the potency of the medication to be used. However, these are the medications that would be helpful for your condition - steroidal based cream for application - a course of oral steroids (if no internal infection suspected) - an immunomodulatory (immune enhancing) ointment like tacrolimus - vit d and zinc supplements - omega 3 supplements 3) you can also go for procedural treatments for it like - co2 laser ablation - prp injection - phototherapy - photo-dynamic therapy kindly understand that I cannot comment on the specific treatment without seeing a photo of the lesion or knowing more details of it.
