I am 28 years old male. I don't remember when I last checked my weight. But I think its been 1 year. When I checked the weight on october, I found that I reduced 7 kg. From 68 to 61.5. During covid 19 lockdown and till today, I haven't been out and was inside home with fear and tension hearing all news reports. Etc. On october end, I had a panic attack which was diagnosed by cardiologist and psychiatrist after conducting ecg, echo, trop 1, thyroid and other blood test and vitamin d level also, as I was admitted in hospital with sudden increase in heartbeat and heart pounding with fear and so. All results were normal except vitamin d as it was low with value 10. Some days before when I checked weight, that is after 1 month, it rise by 1 kg. From 61 to 62. I remember limiting my food intake thinking, sitting in home would make me gain weight. But I didn't have an option to check weight in between. What is the reason for weight loss?

Hi, there can be multiple reasons of weight loss like thyroid, decreased intake of food, stress due to the pandemic and so on. Weight loss has to be gradual. If its sudden weight loss then its a matter of worry not otherwise. Weight is a sum total of bone, water, muscle and fat. You need to gain muscle to get healthy. Have a well balanced diet. Eat 6-8 meals a day. Have carbohydrate and protein rich food combinations like banana or mango milkshake, mix nuts and dryfruit chikkis, soya or paneer veg rolls etc. Include high biological value proteins which are very well absorbed like- milk, curd, paneer, meat, fish, eggs etc. Include essential fats like almonds, walnut, flaxseeds etc. Eat on waking up and do have a bed time meal like milk and light snack. Do not fast or overeat as this will not help. Exercise for 30-40 minutes about 3-4 days a week. Weight training is the preferred form of activity as it will help in muscle growth and weight gain.
