My wife 58 years has tsh 10.403, t4 5.7, t3 1,14,she is taking thyronorm 12.5 mcg for some years. But had stopped taking in between, the result shared is dated 15/12/20, is it correct strength of medicine. Also whether this will be continued forever?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. Tsh 10.4 mu/l is quite high even at 58 years age. Ideally should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l or up to 6mu/l. So there is a need to increase the dose to 25 mcg per say, then check tsh again after 6 weeks to see if the desired level is reached. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.

Needs to increase the dose and monitor with tsh test. Have to take medicine indefinitely.
