Hi sir, my grandmother is 61 year old and he is taking medicine for hypothyroidism from past 11 year. Currently he is taking thyronorm 100 mcg tablet .but today her thyroid profile total test done. Her t3 and t4 total level is normal. But tsh 19.07 �iu/ml .what is the new does of her medicine thyronorm is.(now she is taking 100mch)

She needs yo increase the dose of thyronorm to 125 mcg daily snd repeat TSH after 3 months.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. At the age of 60 plus, with appropriate dosage of Levothyroxine TSH should be maintained around 5 mU/L. So her present level is too high. That needs an increased dosage of Levothyroxine. To calculate the dosage I need to know her height, weight and T4 levels. Then only correct dose can be calculated. Thanks.
