Hi i'm ankit and I have been diagnosed with epilepsy by a neurologist and a good radiologist diagnosed it as a neuro cysticercosis. I have been epilepsy medicines since last 20 days like levipil, lacosam50, frisium and I think it's in control but I can feel it like it will take time. Actually I had seizures and mri report said two complete enhancing rings in right and one small in the left which were all not much big. I just wanted to ask like should I continue with these medicines for 5-6 months (like with only levipil and lacosam, not frisium) and them meet the doctor with a mri report or what should I do? I can still feel very little electrical type jerks in my head and left hand.

Dear lybrate-user, you have epilepsy due to neurocysticercosis, but getting three drugs for same is not a good idea. The policy is to try to control with the maximum dose of one medicine, if seizures are still recurring than second medicine. Three medicines are rarely if ever indicated. You have not mentioned the onset and no of seizures you had and when was the last seizure. Your medication will need to be modified accordingly. Taking 3 medicines not a good idea. The time when medication will be stopped also depends upon the mri changes and last. Seizure. If you come back with these details I can guide you.
