I am 45 years old woman. I have epilepsy for last 17 18 years. And I have done the course of eptoin 2 times. But before 11 years my case has gone worsen. Means again fits. And from then I am taking eption 100 mg thrice a day. Then eptoin thrice a day is not suited to me. Phenytoin level had increased in my blood. So I have to take two times a day. From then I am ok. But yesterday my bp goes low suddenly. I fainted and fell down. And I feel all symptoms of low bp. I request that can we replace eptoin 100 mg by levesam 500 mg. If yes then then how many times a day. Please answer me.

First of all you have to visit a neurologist and then you have to follow what he advised.

Hello, tab phenytoin is a safe drug and in use for many years, if it is controlling your seizures and you have not had any side effects there is no need to change the medication. Extended phenytoin sodium tab can be taken once a day also. The symptoms you had are not related to use of phenytoin.
