Hi due to irregular intervals of periods doctor advised me to take folic acid tablet daily. When I follow the folic acid tablet my stool become black is this normal or this is any side effects.

I think you are taking iron and folic acid tabs. Stools turn black when iron is taken.

There is probably iron in your tablets which is causing this. Folic acid doesn't cause black stools. If you aren't taking any iron preparations, having black stools can be serious and you should consult a medicine specialist.

Check the composition of the tablet you are taking. If there is iron, black stool is normal.
