I am using clonazepam 0.5 mg for rbd. I am also using lamictal 200 mg for depression. Clonazepam helped me very well with rbd symptoms. But unfortunately all pharmacy shops and online pharmacies stopped selling clonazepam -clonotril 0.5 md since last week. I stay at hyderabad. Kindly advise equivalent safe medication with dose for my rbd problem.

Dear Radha Krishna, i don't know your age. What is rbd? However in younger age, clonazepam, a benzodiazepine, needs to be avoided. Because it works fast and relieves your symptoms fast, you might become dependent on it. Then you will continue to take it even after doctor stopped prescribing. After few years you need more dose to get the same effect. Whereas lamictal stabilize your mood and prevents future depressions. It has to be taken daily for a long term. It may not relieve you immediately. But it is good for your future quality of life. You can go for non medical methods like Jacobson's deep muscle relaxation, therapy, yoga and pranayama, etc as equivalent safe treatment.

Depression is a very common problem. There are so ever so many much worse than u. Yours is a little problem no need to worry. Stop smoking and alcohol have regular exercise like walking swimming cycling jogging with friends for one hour holidays once in a week dailyyoga, scheduling activities hobbies social service take fish and vegetables exercise one hour daily you can take the drugs you were taking.
