Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. It is difficult give any opinion on why the leg pain suddenly developed. Fever does lead to lower limb pain. In diabetes sudden development of leg pan is not seen usually. It is a bit unclear why the doctor decided to give injectable antibiotic. Since she is already on that it is better to take the prescribed drug for another 5 days as suggested by e doctor. In any bacterial infection wbc count goes much above the normal level which is 4000 to 11000 /cc so her 4000 cells/cc was normal only. As regards the diabetes please let me know the exact fasting, pp glucose levels & hba1c%, current medications for that, dietary pattern and extent of daily physical activity, plus lipid profile. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes patient fbg should be < 100 g or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. If you hae any questions please do come back. Thanks.
