I would advise you to take things easy, go for yoga classes and get counseled by a professional psychologist. The cardiologist can guide you in treating cardiac problems, but always see your general practioner first. Nowadays, people directly consult super specialists, which is very inconvenient for the doctor and his talent and knowledge are not properly utilised that way. You should have first consulted a md medicine physician first. The cardiologist also feels you are unnecessarily anxious, which is evident from the medication he gave you. Please take proper help (counselling) or I feel you are in danger of becoming a hypochondriac. A salt restricted diet, regular exercise and meditation is what you need.

Hello, you are having systemic hypertension. The cause is usually hereditary. Someone in your blood relation must be having a history of high bp. But to occur at the age of 21 needs some triggers like obesity, alcohol, smoking, sedentary lifestyle, high salt intake etc. You need to be on bp medicines at least you control above factors if there are any. In addition you need few tests before starting medicine like ecg echo, serum creatinine, blood sugar and lipid profile. Do not worry. Get the mentioned tests done and consult online directly for bp medicines. Take care. Stay safe. Have a good day.
