Dr. I have uterine fibroid from last 5 years the size of fibroids are 35. 6 into 28. 8 mm.and another is 14.4 into8. 8 mm, and endometrium thickness is 14. 9 mm. Drs done my pep smear which result is benign cellular change, coccobacilli and inflammation. And biopsy diagnosis is hyperplasia without atypia. Now Dr. Suggest me for mirena for six months. What can I do, can I remove my uterus or I go for mirena.

Hello lybrate-user as your dand c shows hyperlastic changes without atypia you can go for mirena ,but with mirena you need proper follow up after every 6 months for next 5 years once your menopause comes your hyperplasia will get settle, or you may get heavy bleeding as a complication also that depends from patient to patient, and if you go for uterus removal your follow up would be less and long term complications are minimal.
