Abnormal awareness of own heart beat is called palpitation. There could various reasons for palpitation. It could be because of anxiety or tension. It could be because of various cardiac reasons like valve disease, increase in heart size (hypertrophy) etc and also because of hormone disorders like thyroid hormone, adrenal hormones etc. You should consult a cardiologist in person for further diagnosis and treatment.
