Lot of pain below left rib flank region which has worsened >1 week i've h/o renal calculus & am familiar to such stabbing pain radiating from back to abs. I saw a urologist & kub usg showed normal, liver, gall, cbd, pancreas, urinary bladder, spleen, prostate except a 4 mm calculus in lk (middle calyx). Dr. Doesn't feel that a 4 mm calculus in middle calyx should cause so much pain. A 5 day buscopan (1-0-1) course prescribed to see if pain subsides. If no then, ct kub advised. Buscopan taken tonight @ 12 am only worked for few hrs. & pain resumed in 2-3 hrs. I have a dynapar 50 mg as a sos but the Dr. Has recommended to avoid. How do I cope with current pain? Can such pain really occur with a 4 mm calculus in lk (mid calyx zone)? I also feel a lipoma lump at same spot (below rib cage) that pains when presses. I have lot os. Small painless lipoma all over my torso but this new one developed below rib cage is causing immense pain. I'm lost. Pls advise. Hba1c @ 7.7 (31st oct '21)

Hello, have you considered showing to your internist (or the doctor who treats you for diabetes.) the reason is that sometimes diabetics may have unexplained neuropathic pain, or sometimes its just a prequel of herpes zoster which diabetics are predisposed to. It could be either of these as you are unlikely to have pain due to 4 mm calculi unless its causing irritation and spasm. All the best. Â
