My tsh reduced from 12 to 7.5 as I was taking 50 mcg thyronorm for 2.5 months. Please help me. My current ft4 is 9.6 I started taking 100 mcg thyronorm from today. Can I continue doing it for 8 weeks to monitor? I want my tsh to between 2-3 only.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. It is difficult to understand on what basis have decided to take 100 mcg of levothyroxine a day. Tsh is 7.5 mu/l which is above normal, is a fact. But do you have any symptoms related to that condition? Did you consult any doctor or you are deciding on your own? Dear Mr. lybrate-user, if your original tsh was only 12 I am surprised that it did not normalize with 50 ug thyronorm daily. This happens if you miss doses on some days. Please take your tablet every day morning on an empty stomach without missing doses and recheck tsh after 2 months. If you forget to take on an empty stomach take it when you remember later in the day but do not miss doses. I am sure tsh will get into the normal range if you are regular with the medication
