Follow methods by which you can gain your desired height. 1. Follow these exercises regularly and you get the goal of height gain: * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. The growth and height iscontrolled by growth hormone whichis secreted by pituitary gland situated in the brain. So take meditation and have a stressfree lifestyle. Take 6-8 hours of sleep daily. Meditation makes your pituitatry gland healthy and working properly. 5. Take 1/2 teaspoon of ashwagandha powder with milk once a day.

Dear lybrate user, you are 5'5" at the age of 18 and considering indian standards you are not short. You still have 2 more years to gain height. You can do yoga, cycling, swimming etc which will help you in gaining more height. But please remember that you have taken your parents' genes and your height depends on that also. Please find out average height of your families from both the sides. If the average height is less than your height, you cannot expect yourself to grow much taller than this. I also think that you need not worry too much about your weight, if you are healthy. Because body structure is also hereditary. If you still want to gain weight, include eggs and bananas, mangoes in your meals. Do lots of exercise and eat well after that, have plenty of water, have enough sleep. You will anyway gain weight once you cross 25 years. Remember being healthy is more important than carrying more weight on your body. For the time being, just study well, eat well and enjoy your life. You have no reason to get depressed. Enjoy life.

No need to depress. When there's hope, why are you hopeless. At 18 ht increase diminishes. But it is reported that ht may increase upto 22 years too and rare cases are there where ht increased uoto 25 years too. But there's no majic for it. You have to work hard. Sprints, stretching exercises, practice of pranayam, hanging exercises, soorya namaskar and yoga postures alongwith high protein diet enriched with iron can do wonders when combined with highly antioxidant and growth herbs. Pl note that alone the herbs can't give you ht increase. Work on it. Food, herbs, exercises, pranayam and desi cow milk and it's products are sure shot improvers. So be happy. Some factors like hereditary also counts.
