I am 63 years old I got checked up for diabetic and found sugar level was 200. Started medicine. Now doctor says your average sugar level is 135 which is safe. Still I am continuing medicines but less. Fasting sugar level was 80, 2 months back. Can you suggest fiber food for me. Is it possible to get rid of diabetes.

Getting rid of diabetes is not possible. Diabetes can be kept under control. Your fasting blood sugar is normal. For diabetes follow a diet low in carbohydrate, low in fat and high in fibre. Avoid bakery products. Avoid too much rice and potato. Avoid fried stuff. Avoid chocolate, cakes, ice cream, soft drinks and fruit juices. Eat lots of vegetables which are good source of fibre. Walk for at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days in a week. Also check your 2 hours postmeal blood sugar level.
