I'm a diabetic using glyciphage 250mg twice a day when I have to take them after meals or before meals.

Hello, metformin 250 mg can be taken either on empty stomach (before food) or after food. There is no hard and fast rule. Some patients complain of gastrointestinal side effects, when taken on empty stomach. So for them it is recommended after food.
