The medication you have been prescribed is good. If you want to avoid the side effects, I suggest you seek a counselor's help and follow many other habits to deal with anxiety and depresion. Don't rely on medication alone. I would specifically want you to learn about emotions, especially anger and fear, and how to deal with them normally. Wake up early, do aerobic exercises, play some games, go out often to meet people, and follow a time schedule of good healthy habits.
