Doctor, I am a 42 years old male. I am a foodie person but still I try to keep control on what and where I eat. Doctor please tell me if food is the only source of high cholesterol or there other reasons too. Please tell me what contributes to high cholesterol?

The presence of too much fatty substance, known as cholesterol, in your blood is the main cause. Your blood can have high cholesterol levels due to eating fatty food, lack of physical activity or exercise, obesity or being overweight, regular smoking, and consumption of too much alcohol. Problem of cholesterol may be genetic and can run in families.
