Your mother is suffering from benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (bppv). Symptoms are 1. Reeling sensation for few seconds to few minutes which is self limiting. 2. Nausea & occasionally committing. 3. Unsteadiness while walking. It is usually triggered by change of head & body position. Since it happens multiple times in a day, it is annoying & troublesome. An expert ent surgeon can help her by evaluating the side involved & doing the necessary manoeuvre to relieve the patient of his/her symptoms. Short course of medicines are required for complete relief. Vertigo exercises help in preventing relapses.
