Hello I have gone through fistulectomy surgery of fistula in anno one month before I have pain n burning sensation in surgery. The healing is taking time n wound is still there n I am doing dressing daily also n one nurse sister also doing dressing once in a day n that is painful. I wanted to know that is dressing is compulsory n how long does wound take time to cure. Today is 1 month 8 days gone still it's not healing or it will take time. I am using betadine 10% liquid to clean n metrogyl 2% gel on wound. please guide n explain. Thnx.

Hello lybrate-user, I think you should consult your operating surgeon for a check up. The fistulectomy wound normally should heal by 3 weeks time if properly flushed and irrigated with normal saline after each passage of stool. So continue with betadine sitz bath and get consulted with your surgeon. Thank u.
