Sir psychiatrist prescribed me tab vortioxetine 20 mg (night), tab modalert 100 (morning), melatonin 3 mg (2 hours before bed), clonazepam (sleep time). For my 20 years dysthymia, anxiety neurosis, chronic insomnia. Due to vortioxetine stomach upset, loose stool present. Is it is dangerous, normal. Which time is right to take vortioxetine morning or evening. Can I take melatonin along with clonazepam. Any serious interaction. I take vortioxetine morning. Pls advice me. My doctor not responding my questions. Pls help me.

Vortioxetine can be taken any time in the day. Yes, it causes stomach upset including nausea which usually resolves in 5-7 days. You can add an anti-emetic medicine like pantop-dsr for few days to tackle the side effects. It usually remits in a week and is not dangerous. If it does not goes off, we need to discontinue vortioxetine and switch to an alternative after discussion with a psychiatrist. Melatonin can be taken with clonazepam without any serious interactions.
