My girlfriend's mother passed away aged 68 due to dementia. Symptoms started at the age of 60-61. Initially she was told it was frontotemporal dementia, later alzheimer's disease. No family history, no other member with dementia. My girlfriend is 34, completely healthy. Does she need to do genetic testing (also in the context of having children)?
