Hi doc I am in long distance relationship for 1 year & I had gf , she loves me no doubt but what I find after 5-6 month she had a habit of flirting back to other guys. I told her about this many times , she promised me not to repeat again but things get repeated (she told me also that she feel good when some strangers give importance ) Now due to this I don't concentrate on my job also with soo many ideas on my mind. (Sometime I used to think It was better to live life as a single ) This incident make me less attracted towards her & some time I feel I should have hookups outside this relationship. & I am scared due to this frustration I might cheat on her which I don't wanted to do. Looking forward for some tremendous help from you people.

That she has admitted to flirting and has gone back on her promises to stay faithful are not good signs. She has also admitted to wanting attention and that she gravitates towards people who give her importance is concerning in the long run. It is very difficult to keep tabs on someone in a long-distance relationship. Trust is a very important factor in relationships anyway and this must be respected and honored. So all in all, it sounds like this relationship is going the wrong way and I am afraid that you may not be able to rely on her. But to make a decision on the basis of this one person to stay single is pushing it too far. Never let a person do that to you. Besides, you have not even met her and I suspect that you have a tendency to go overboard in relationships for whatever reason. This is a vulnerable trait in you and needs to be worked upon with a counselor. Also, you do not fight fire with fire i. E. By trying to compete with her infidelity you are making matters worse. Either you wait and see how she is when you meet her or call it quits and move on with your life. The signs are not good no doubt but it is not so bad that you need to give up on your life and its future for such an individual.
