Mt TSH level is around 8.3 even though I have been taking thyroxine 75 mg regularly in the morning on empty stomach for the last 8 months. I am 43 years old female. I haven't got my periods since the last 42 days. Kindly advice.

Lybrate-user, tsh 8.3 milli units/l means hypothyroidism is not in control. Dose has to go up from 75 mcg to 87, 5 mcg then tsh level has to be checked after 6 weeks to see if the dose taken is adequate or needs any further increase. Menstruation may not have occurred because high tsh. Thanks.
