Hello. I can understand your condition. The feelings of helplessness that you are describing are result of depressed mood and negative thinking. It happens sometimes that our minds think over the past too much and this makes us feel negative and low about ourselves. Thinking about past events may be considered a normal phenomena but when this gets out of control and we keep reverting to thoughts about past happenings, then we find ourselves caught up in a circle of negative thinking. We are not able to relieve us from such mental load and find no direction as how to come out of it. We develop a negative view of ourselves and we are not able to feel good about ourselves. This makes us more depressed and we feel incapable of doing anything. We get stuck to past and find ourselves helpless in face of any challenging circumstances. A new event of marriage is making you vulnerable to feel more depressed and helpless as you are unemployed and occupied in your past. This is a state of depression and it seems you may be having clinical depression which needs to be diagnosed by a mental health professional and treated in time. You are going to start a new phase of your life and therefore you need hope, courage and motivation to enter this new phase. So this is the right time for you to seek professional help and make yourself feel better about yourself. You need to work and find meaning in life. You MUST meet a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist as soon as possible.
